Coming from a background with no prior knowledge or expertise in art and drawing, this on-site sketching assignment was a challenge to me. It was my first time coming across the practice of drawing on-site without using ruler and eraser. I took much longer time than my peers to produce the drawings but with patience and efforts, I’ve learnt how to visualize the space of a given site via observation and perception. I’ve also picked up the skills necessary to sketch the space free-hand as a mode of communication according to scale and proportion.
